Welcome to Unbethink.

Our first two-hour confab is:

Ground yourself in very good company.

Do you miss old-school internet where the glorious weirdos found each other and nerded out?

Unbethink is a Sunday gathering. Not church. We don't look up to a higher power. Instead, look in. Hit your internal reset button. Shape what's next.

Tired of dodging algorithms and advertising, I wanted to get off the hostile, inhumane platforms.

In a flat-out "put up or shut up" maneuver, I designed the online experience I wanted to hang out in.

Our live time together looks like:

00:00 Welcome

Doors open, settle in.

00:05 Inklings

Brandy (or invited guest) shares a little food for thought.

00:20 Reflection

Individual time to percolate. Use Brandy's prompt, go in your own direction. Write, draw, move. This is your time.

00:40 Conversation

Whole group discussion, or self-organized breakout groups, this time will take different shapes depending on what we need.

01:25 Shaping Your Sprint

Whether you get into crunchy, detailed planning, or more broadly envision your next two weeks, this is more time for yourself.

01:45 Reconvene

01:50 Tie it with a bow

02:00 Adjourn

Okay, but what is it?

Unbethink has two components:

  1. A two-hour virtual experience every other Sunday

  2. A private forum for subscribers

Think of our live time together as the main course. The online space is the side dish — a place to connect between sessions.

What does 'unbethink' mean?

Unbethink is an obsolete word that means to reflect, recall, or change one's mind.

English Dialect Society Publication, 1892

Let's get into the nitty gritty of how Unbethink works and what it stands for...

Untangle yourself.

Stretched too thin, stuck in your head, or feeling frayed? Ready to unravel?
Doomscrolling and dodging ragebait takes a serious toll.
Turn off all the notifications and tune in live for two hours.
Every session moves the same way: settle in, find what's tangled, work it loose, shape what's next.
You'll leave lighter than you came.
  • Nobody untangles you. We sit side-by-side, fellow untanglers.

Not coaching or therapy, Unbethink is a two-hour practice that gives you time, space, and a gentle process to find your own answers for yourself.
  • And you don't untangle anyone else.

No fixers, no unsolicited advice. We are people to be heard, not problems to be solved.

Notice.

You're here, checking in with yourself, and that's the entire assignment.
You are not grading yourself. No red pens. No gold stars.
Sit still long enough to hear your own signal again. A little observational distance from the noise.

Scan your senses, fill your lungs.

For those of us who live in our heads: you have a frickin' body.
It is full of invaluable information. Listen to it.

  • Take your own weather report.

No forecast, no fixing, just what's actually happening in there.
One session you may feel 'crunchy' and cranky. Another time, you may feel totally in your groove.
In-tune or out-of-sorts, you are in exactly the right place.
  • Labeling and judging.

    Noticing and naming.

If your lifelong frenemy is your own inner critic, this practice starts breaking up that bad relationship.

Get
present.

Boundaries are beautiful.

Know where you end and others begin.
Healthy boundaries aren't walls. They are gates you control. They protect your energy, your values, and your peace.
In a world constantly screaming for your attention, it is easy to feel blurry.
Find your edges again.

We pause politics.
Two reasons:

  1. The rest of the internet is inescapably political. Here is our breathing space to enjoy the other facets of life that keep us grounded, recharged, and ready for the next fight.
  2. This practice is about you, your first-hand experience. Not Them; third-person abstracted Them online politics uses to lock us into the furious, perpetual doom scroll.
Members are welcome to discuss their own local, boots-on-the-ground actions in the forum.

The Conversation is off the record.

Brandy posts each Sunday sessions — everything but our 40 minute of conversation — in two places:

  • In our members-only forum within a couple hours of our close.
  • On YouTube, the following Sunday.

While I do record the whole session, nothing leaves without your say-so. If I want to share something you said, I'll come and ask, and you can turn me down flat.

Snazzies or Jammies?

There is no dress code, but you can use our live Sunday sessions as a beautiful excuse to gussy up.

Pull out the fancypants that rarely get worn. A sense of occasion for yourself.

Alternatively, if you want to cocoon, get cozy. Pajama-comfy is welcomed.

Enough already.

Enough of platform feeds fracking our minds, then selling us the fix. Quit the influencers.
Make up your own mind and share what's on it.

You are enough. Already.

Right now, mid-mess, list unfinished.
Every one of us is making something. He's making a quilt. She's making a decision. They're making a Saturday their kids will remember.

Doers and makers are the new movers and shakers.

  • You are not the product.

No ads. No spon con. No moneymen enshittifying the place. We all chip in a modest fee so nobody has to sell you.
  • Support, don't sell.
Of course we'll cheer each other's work, ask for what we need, and pass along trusted favorites.
Just don't work the room. Nobody signed up for chronic crowdfunding or spammy DMs. And screw downlines.

Time carved out.

Give yourself this gift of a two-hour pause and a clear, biweekly practice to reflect and figure out what's next.

Time carved up.

Last week will look nothing like this one. Daily practices feel impossible. Long-term planning, laughable.
But the fourteen days between sessions? That's something your brain and planner can actually hold.
Short enough to stick with, long enough to make real progress.
  • No streaks. No stars. No shame.

Every session stands on its own. Skip one, skip a season, drop in when it fits your life. The practice doesn't keep score, and neither do we.

Try a two-week experiment.

The 14-day stretch between live sessions create a natural chunk of time to try something new, get back to an old favorite, or take a break from what's not working.

Hello, Human.

Real people, real stories, real connection.
Not bots, not brands, not corporate manipulation.
Unbethink is human-led, human-sized, human-centered.
 You make our space great.
  • We need your kind of mind.

Recovering perfectionists. The chronically curious. People who go too deep on things and refuse to apologize for it. If you've ever been called intense, you're among friends.
  • Presence, not performance.

Joining live? Count on being on camera, because it makes a difference how we share the space. We show up for each other.
How much or how little you speak or type is up to you.

Goodbye, Hot Takes.

We're not here to sling memes, dunk on strangers, or spend our one precious life commenting on somebody else's.
Unbethink is a first-person experience.
Bring your own thinking, the thing you're making, the problem you are chewing on.
We don't argue with someone else's experience, and no scolds allowed. Leave all that at the door.

Our forum is first-person.

No memes. No AI. Don't paste and link and run.

We want your thinking, in your own words, from your own life.

Let's break our platform habits and get back to a pocket of the early internet where you found your people.

The bar is honesty, not eloquence.

Ink your thinking.

Doesn't matter if you're a scrawler, a list-maker, a doodler, or heck, you can scream into the void.
Unbethink is your biweekly practice to shake loose what's rattling around in your skull.
Get it all out on the page. Make your mark.

Confetti counts.

One session you'll fill the page. Another you'll get three words and a lot of white space.

Maybe you'll just feel a little lighter and never look at it again. Or choose to tear it into tiny pieces.

Every one of these is successfully unbethinking.

  • Paper never pings you.

A notebook won't autosave, sell your notes, or buzz for your attention.
Yes, yes, we're meeting online to do this, but we're bending the tech toward connection, not distraction.

Now, shape what's next.

Give yourself two hours in the present tense. Not a productivity system or a vision board of stuff you're supposed to want.
You won't leave any one session with a plan.
Unless you do.
Over time, you put the noise down long enough to hear yourself — over and over, until you can hear yourself anywhere.
Then you move, with the ease of knowing your own mind.
  • Your move, your business.

No accountability partner, no check-in, nobody asking how it went. You don't report back here.
The whole point is actively switching off the podcast, the book, or the Brandy telling you what to do next.

If you're looking for accountability buddies, coworking pals, or partners in crime, subscribers are welcome to coordinate in the forum.

Kindness pirates, ahoy!

Who doesn't want a rising tide that lifts all boats?

Today's waters are rocky, the seas stormy, and some mothertruckers are taking drills to our hull.

Kindness pirates credo:
Do no harm, take no shit.

We sail our own waters, create our own tide, and fiercely protect our own.

  • Kind, not nice.

Nice keeps the peace and lets the bully stay. Kind protects our practice. Bad-faith actors, bullies, and concern trolls are not part of this crew.
One warning if you're having a bad day. The plank if you're the problem.
    On this, Brandy's the captain.
  • Tools, not tribes.

Share a tool and everybody's better off. Share a tribe and somebody's always on the outside.
The live practice and ongoing forum are tools to reflect, connect, and support each other. No side to defend, no enemy to hate.

TOOLS,
NOT
TRIBES

It may not be
smooth sailing,
but we are all
in this together.

And there you have it.

What we can create together shared through the 9 letters of a wonky, obsolete word.

Two hours every other Sunday. And all year long in the forum.
